Eero Saarinen’s Pedestal Collection for Knoll remains one of the classic modern furniture creations of the 20th Century. Saarinen applied his Finnish heritage and penchant for refined forms towards resolving the “slum of legs“ to which standard dining tables and chairs were beholden. The Tulip Chair, like the Saarinen Dining Table, is defined by its graceful pedestal stem, fashioned from cast aluminum and molded fiberglass, it's gently rounded form one of the most recognizable modern chair profiles ever created.
