Planetary Sculpture Supper Club, July 13th
We're super excited to host our first dinner club event here at the Good Mod on July 13th!
The Planetary Sculpture Supper Club
The Center for Genomic Gastronomy and Heather Julius of the Special Snowflake studio invite you to a 6-course experimental supper club for Portland's beta-tasters, gastronauts & adventurous eaters.
The Planetary Sculpture Supper Club is an evening of art, research, food and stories that connect human food systems to the changing biosphere of planet Earth. The upcoming supper club event is scheduled for July 13th at 7pm, hosted at the Good Mod: 1313 W Burnside St, Portland, OR 97209. Tickets are available for $75.00 per diner, with drink pairings included.
Since 2011, the Planetary Sculpture Supper Club has been held in Europe, the U.S. and Asia. At each dinner food and storytelling are used to:
* map food controversies
* prototype alternative culinary futures
* and imagine a more just, biodiverse & beautiful food system.
On July 13th, the Planetary Sculpture Supper Club will dish out unusual cuisines and exciting conversations around topics such as the de-extinction debate, GMO wheat in Oregon's fields and a national dish for Cascadia.

Adrien Segal and Data-based Sculpture
We recently worked with Oakland-based OCAC artist in residence Adrien Segal to fabricate a piece based on years of USGS data tracking the changing course of the Molalla River. We CNC routed the contours, glued and clamped them into the full 3D form.
Vintalier
We recently completed the build-out at our neighbor Vintalier. We designed each fixture, and a large partition wall integrated into a dressing room and sculptural clothing racks.

A Finished Live Edge Table
Our custom maple live edge breakfast table is complete - look at that grain!
We used a salvaged cast iron industrial base to hold the slab, with routed indents in the surface to keep it in place.
The edge was hand-rounded and brushed. This was a custom commission, but we have another similar slab and industrial bases that we can make another great table from!
