This chaise was designed in 1968 by Ray and Charles Eames. A conversation with writer and film producer Billy Wilder was the catalyst that inspired the Eameses to create a lounge chair in which one could nap but not for long. They gave Billy Wilder the first produced chaise lounge and named it after him.
