NATE VAN HOOK PAINTS AN EAMES SHELL CHAIR!
The Good Mod has recently been working with admired artists and giving them some of their vintage Eames shell chairs to see what kind of new twists can be created on the classic and iconic design. This chair was given to local Portland Oregon artist Nathan Van Hook
The chair will be donated to the Tedx Perfect Talk and will be auctioned off to raise money for underprivileged kids so they can attend the talks (tickets are normally $100 each.)
The Tedx talk will be held at One Grand Gallery on April 12th 2014.

SPENCER STALEY TORCHES HIS WORK
Yesterday, we caught Spencer adding his own personal touch to his later milled sculpture. He decided to go over the piece with a propane torch, adding another dimension to the color & form. Here are a few photos of him at work.
This is an ancient technique called "shou-sugi-ban". In Japan, this was used to naturally protect the cedar from insects, fire and moisture.
